Mind Express
Mind Express is an easy to use computer program that has everything a speech therapist or teacher needs to create new communication grids and excercises.
A huge variety of symbols, pictures, speech, music and sounds can be used to make interesting and stimulating methods of communication.
Symbols
An extensive range of symbols and icons are available for use in Mind Express. They can be used to create communication grids and games and can also be supplemented with your own drawings, photos or new symbols. The symbols available include Rebus, PCS and Picture This.
Mind Express is very easy to adapt and update, so that communication grids can be kept up to date with any changes or progression each individual makes.
Speech
Mind Express allows people to form words and sentences by selecting pictures and symbols. A clear, high quality speech engine is available (RealSpeak™) allowing text to be read out in an audible natural voice. Mind Express also has a built in grammer module, which guarantees automatic conjugations of verbs.

Accessibility
The symbols in Mind Express can be accessed via touch screen, mouse, trackball, joystick or switches. This allows for individual and customised access to communication grids. Motivation can be aided by rewards such as sound clips, music or videos that can be played at the press of a symbol.
Versitile
Mind Express™ is an open and multi-faceted toolbox for dozens of applications, making it an ideal tool for the assessment of the most suitable symbols, vocabularies and operating possibilities for individuals.
Grids and excercises can also be used at home and in the classroom, allowing full integration and communication with family, friends and collegues.
As Mind Express works in a Windows environment, photos, drawings, videos and your own messages or recorded sounds can be used as part of everyday communication.
It also has a built-in word processor, which allows letters or articles to be saved, printed or read aloud.

New Features...
Pop up Pages
This feature allows you to move to another page without leaving the page you are jumping from. The new page appears as a pop up on top of the original page. This approach is helpful for users who need a strong structure and for organising small sets of symbols - the letter functions, for example, can be placed in a pop up page.
Word Prediction
A cell can be programmed to display one of the word predictions. Mind Express can predict a word from the selection of individual characters or symbols on any page and will also predict the next word in the message that is being created. By selecting a predicted word in the presented list you immediately initiate the prediction of the following word.
Email Module
With this module, Mind express has fully integrated email functionality. Any message or letter that is created in Mind Express can be sent to any email address, as text or text and symbols. Received messages can be opened and displayed or read aloud.

Text Messaging
Using the Mind Express SMS module and a suitable mobile phone or phone card, symbol based communicators can now send and receive text messages with their friends and families. Messages can be constructed and sent using symbol pages and received text messages can be read out via the speakers in the Tellus or computer. Users can also make calls, receive calls and hang-up the phone when finished.
Camera Support
In conjunction with a WebCam and the Camera module, Mind Express can allow users to take photographs and form their own personal photo library. The pictures can be scrolled through by the user and selected to add them to and messages that they are constructing in their sentence window.
